A must have!

Although it has a low odor profile, it is an important factor in 'fixing' other sandalwood materials. As Hedione is to florals, and Iso E Super is to woody/Amber...so goes Sandela to Sandalwood!

Sandela

I wasn't initially impressed with this chemical. At all. The top note is so faint, it's nearly absent. But recently, when I'd open my box of sandalwood bottles, I'd catch a particular intoxicating note that I've been trying to capture from the beginning. Sandela is that note. It is a true base material, and it is fantastic! Give it time and space for its rich, smooth, sweetness to develop. It fixes and rounds every woody note I've paired it with so far. This is easily one of my favorite materials.

Excellent sandalwood fixative, don't be fooled by the lack of topnote
Mark (New York, NY) 8/26/2014 12:05 PM
This is a true base note material, recommended by some as a fixative for other sandalwood chems. Unlike many other sandalwood ACs (ebanol or sandalrome, for example), it has very little presence at first and takes time to develop. To get a sense of its real power, dip a smelling strip and smell it the next day.

Faint, dusty wood material that doesn't smell much like sandalwood.

Although this doesn't smell like sandalwood, it's an evocative woody note from the bottle. Yet on paper and on skin, it's barely detectable. From the container, it smells dusty and dirty, but it ends there.
