Good sandal base
Mark Sage (Bronx, NY) 4/11/2021 3:39 PM
This actually does smell a lot like a natural sandalwood oil I have - there's a typically fungoid topnote that is present in some oils and reconstructed here. However, natural sandalwood is, imo, impossible to replicate using artificial materials; I've never smelled a blase that comes close but all things considered this is pretty good and it works well in blends.

Doesn't smell like sandalwood
Tony Sanchez (Oakland, CA) 1/5/2019 11:37 PM
I was looking forward to smelling this but was really surprised by the odor on the blotter. To me it smelled horrible, like a combination of urine and glue. I detected no sandalwood note. No wood note at all in fact.

Just sampled this. I really don't like to leave negative reviews. This isn't a BAD smell, it just doesn't smell like sandalwood. In fact, if it wasn't meant to mimic sandalwood then it would be kind of alright. What I smell is mostly mushroom alcohol (1-Octen-3-ol) and a sort of nutty smell. Real sandalwood is indeed kind of earthy in a sense, but this is off the mark. Again, not bad, but not at all sandalwood
