This is probably my favorite animalic material, because it smells so human. It is a very intimate human smell that one may consider shocking. Like all animalics, it must be carefully dosed, but it works wonders with jasmine and tuberose, especially.

This product is somewhat hard to describe. It's a complex note that does indeed have facets of civet and a somewhat ammonia-type back note that I can assume to be the ambergris influence. However, this doesn't smell animalic at all. The civet is the main focus here but it is much softer than what you would expect. I can see gardenia and tuberose references, although it doesn't exactly smell like it, if that makes sense. It goes it that direction, rather. All of the facets combined give a somewhat "dusty" impression. All in all, a very odd yet interesting note to use as a base for a composition.
