NONDANGEROUS GOODS - SHIPS WORLDWIDE

GEOSMIN has rain on dirt or cement nuances. It is similar to the aroma chemical Terranol. The best way to smell this Geosmin is in dilution from 1 to 3%.

The chemical structure of geosmin, the compound behind the smell of the Earth after rain, which itself is known as petrichor. Geosmin is a compound released by certain soil bacteria called Actinomycetes, and falling rains cause it to be released into the air. We are sensitive to 10 parts per trillion, or one drop in an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Wow! Just Wow
J.Fred Decker (San Francisco, CA) 5/9/2019 11:56 PM
Everybody talks about 'first rain' on dry dirt or concrete, etc., etc. All true, but that doesn't begin to cover this wonderful stuff. I get rocks in morning sun--like on top of Half Dome, whatever. The real power here is in the nuances a little bit gives to a blend. Ozonic? Diffusive? Fresh, for sure. Very little goes very far!

A must try!
Antonio Marvuglia (White Rock, BC) 1/14/2018 6:37 PM
When opening my order of many aroma samples from creating perfume, this got an emphatic 'oh my god I love this' from everyone. I love this aroma! It is incredibly beautiful, subtle but very noticable. Hard to describe. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in building out their aroma kit. This has to be experienced to be understood. Very worth while.
