Firsantol - interesting, I get a very similar feeling to Orivone here, except with a white sawdust edge. I like it.
it does have some musky sandal afternotes.
This smells different from the other sandalwood synthetics I've smelled.
Could be indispensable as one of the sandalwood synthetics, mixed with others, in creating a more real-to-life sandalwood accord.

I'm almost anosmic to it. This is milky, creamy, comfortable. Very close to Ebanol. Long lasting.

From everything I've read prior to trying it, I was at first under the impression that this would be a full blown sandalwood aroma, so when I tried it I was slightly disappointed. However, it is a sandalwood isolate/synthetic and it is only one aspect of the overall sandalwood smell, so I had to consider that.
On a different note though, like the previous reviewer mentioned, this is THE best sandalwood synthetic. While it's aroma does not showcase the full complexity of an actual sandalwood, it's aroma is a lot better than the other synthetics of this type that I have tried. It's so smooth with a delightful sweet aspect. Additionally, while it is still very subtle, it's character is a bit more detectable than the other synthetics.
If you are trying to recreate a sandalwood accord, I can imagine that you could not go wrong with this one. For what it is, I have to give it 5 stars.

There are some wonderful sandalwood materials, but this is the best synthetic sandalwood I've smelled to date. It is wonderfully natural and I haven't found any off notes. I'm excited to smell Polysantol and hopefully actual Alpha & Beta Santalol one day.
