Chocolaty, burned aroma, very thick, difficult to work with
Jason Signor (BUFFALO, NY) 2/27/2019 4:08 PM
This cocoa absolute has a very nice chocolaty aroma, but also smells like burned chocolate pudding. I'm not a fan of the burned quality but it may prove useful. I had a lot of difficulty dispensing this one even when heated. Would not mix with carrier oil. I had some success making a 10% dilution in ethanol, but not without a mess and some product loss. I really wanted to give this one 5 stars, but due to the burned aroma and difficulty working with the product, I am giving it a 2/10.

Very very potent, Fuel-like aroma, bitter cooking chocolate
Jason Signor (BUFFALO, NY) 1/12/2019 3:11 PM
I should have read the description of this one more carefully. This is a clear liquid, not a thick brown absolute. This does not smell like chocolate. The aroma is fuel-like, a bit like heating fuel, raw unsweetened cooking chocolate, bitter, slightly sweet. Straight out of the bottle it is very potent. Even in solution, it is potent and I have found it quite difficult to use not just due to the aroma, but it also easily leads to coughing from smelling it even in solution. I'm not saying it can't be used. I recommend getting a sample first. At a trace, it might add a sweetness to a blend. I think Jason meant to leave this review for the COCOA ALDEHYDE.
