Essential damascone
Mark Sage (Bronx, NY) 9/26/2021 5:38 PM
If you're not familar with damascones and damascenone they can be a bit tricky to understand at first because they are so extremely diffusive, meaning that although they don't smell very strong at first (and are highly restricted in fragrance), they are actually extremely powerful in blends when smelled at any distance. This has minty, apple and, most of all, fresh rose qualities and is a versatile and wonderful material. Absolutely essential - and like most aromachems can't be judged in isolation.

jammy apple, plum, kind of edible
Parker Turtenwald (Olympia, WA) 10/28/2019 9:37 PM
smells jammy or like jam, weird, like a dry green juicy apple, dry like alcoholic apple cider, a little bit fermented or overly ripe bruised apple, but almost more a plum-like quality in apple. slightly camphorous, almost minty. It's amazing how well these pictures match up to what the hard-to-describe smells of these substances feel like.
