ALDEHYDE C - 12 MNA is one of the most preferred aldehydes. Blends well with galbanum, the hexenyl family or the methyl phenyl carbinyl esters, and oakmoss. This aldehyde combined with galbanum, oakmoss, and fruity or floral notes forms the concoction needed for Chanel #5, White Linen, and Arpege.

Fantastic, a must-have
RRUGGER (New York, NY) 1/30/2020 7:44 PM
This is one of those essential finishing touches for narcotic florals, fruity floral and oriental compositions. It is a very strong, very powerful material that requires a delicate hand, and it requires curing time to show its strength. On its own it smells waxy and pungent, similar to orange pith (the white part of the rind) but not as citric as other aldehydes, it has a surprising ability to lift and add fizz to a large variety of notes. Along Hedione, Benzyl Salicylate, Indole, Indolene, I find it indispensable in a perfumer's organ.

Very useful
derrick farrier (Hamer, SC) 5/9/2015 1:28 AM
This is probably the most preferred aldehyde because it is neutral in it's aroma. It's a dry, airy, slightly bitter clary sage-type note with the typical aldehyde sparkle. It's almost like the perfume equivalent to champagne or sparkling water. This stuff is so potent that all it takes is trace amounts to add an airy lift to an entire fragrance composition. Very useful but know how to use it or you will abuse it.
