So I am in the air conditioner and I can smell everything!! I just received a huge order. I am reselling everything and I smelled Clearwood again. It's simple and beautiful. It was a sample and am definitely making it a staple.

Reads Like An Old Book
Jonathan Buncic (Marietta, GA) 4/3/2020 10:51 PM
Much like what the other reviews state, although these reviews lack dry-down stages. First smell on a test strip gives the impression of a gently used 15 year old book being brought into the room after sitting on the concrete floor of an old, mildewed, basement for a week. 24hr mark at 50% smells EXACTLY like the pages of a 25 year old book, but now lacking that mysterious, slightly ozonic, watery quality. At either point, you get basically the same strength, but surprisingly enough, I'm getting an immediate hit out of the older version, while it takes me a second longer to smell the fresh (but still only slightly wet with Clearwood) application of a test strip. You can surely use this to your advantage in dry-down staging. I haven't gone longer than 24 hours, but it will surely dry down for longer than this. I am expecting a 72 hour longevity (which actually makes sense because it's 50%). What a beautiful, yet subtle, familiar aroma.

Amazing!

I have just received this as a sample and cannot quit smelling it. All the best qualities of Patchouli without the ones some dislike; a softer and cleaner version is the perfect description for this captivating scent!

Gorgeous

I don't know how I ever lived without this. Sometimes you want to 'dirty up' your florals; other times you don't. This is for the latter. It gives tenacity and depth to your blends without muddying your middle and top notes.

Love this!

Being a "Patch addict", I find this to be quite powerful in blends and an excellent replacement for Patchouli when you need something that just isn't as "rough" around the edges as some Patchoulis can be. Of course this depends upon the Patchouli - and I have at least a dozen different ones. Some are softer than others, some more floral, some sweeter, some dirtier/earthieer, some fresher. They all have their place in my arsenal - and that said, this absolutely has its place as well. I use it in a couple of my men's blends and they sell like crazy. I have had more than one person tell me they smell Patchouli in these blends, but "It smells clean!" We all know the reputation that Patchouli has with some. Ha! I've yet to experiment with it in women's blends, but have some ideas for it I plan to give a try, utilizing some sweet and spiced fruit accords.
