Aquilaria agallocha Roxb.

The Agar aroma comes from fungi that infect the trees, producing an oleoresin which saturates the wood and creates the complex rich woody aroma. This is a SCO2 extraction. Botanical Name-Aquilaria agallocha Roxb. This Agarwood oil is from cultivated trees not endangered trees. Thus not disturbing the rare trees and surrounding forests.

Supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) is a fluid state of carbon dioxide where it is held at or above its critical temperature and critical pressure.

Supercritical CO2 is becoming an important commercial and industrial solvent due to its role in chemical extraction in addition to its low toxicity and environmental impact. The relatively low temperature of the process and the stability of CO2 also allows most compounds to be extracted with little damage or denaturing. In addition, the solubility of many extracted compounds in CO2 varies with pressure, permitting selective extractions.

Supercritical CO2 is chemically stable, reliable, low-cost, non-toxic and non-flammable making it a desirable candidate working fluid.

If you order a dilution, its diluted in TEC a natural product. TRIETHYL CITRATE NATURAL

Musty dark wood, with hints of cherry and sweet tobacco. Alluring. Mysterious. Delicious. Not overly dark. Quite lively. Better than similarly priced oud I got from ensar. It added invaluable rich exotic quality to my sandalwood based EDT formula. Consider this a very safe bet as an entry-level-priced agar.

This is one of my first agarwood experiences and so far I am deeply impressed. I have a couple other agarwood oils and this seems to be of very high quality. 4ml is a lot for the price too. The scent is very rich and spicy with deep wood notes. There is a bit of fruit too, like apples and raisins in cinnamon with a touch of honey. This will make a great base for most of my fragrances.
