It may seem strange to want to add things like civet, and certain animal notes that seem to smell bad. But most of these elements are deluted to an extreem point so to lend only a direction to the perfume. adding herbal notes that seem to green and sharp or biting. you may think i want a perfume that smells floral not like cat pee. But with out these notes a perfume can fall flat or be cloying (to sweet) or lacking any natural earthyness.
the addition of woods are also extremly imporant. they can melo a perfume giving it depth and soal and longevity.
